High BP

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

My doctor has taken me off my BP pills. He believes I can lower it through exercise and healthy diet. I regularly go to the gym and watch what I eat (not 100% successfully, I must admit).  I go back to see him in June.  I'm 7Ibs away from my target weight so I know I can do it by then. My question is does anyone know any natural remedies to lower BP? Thanks

I too have HBP. I had a stent placed into the main artery which goes into the heart a few years ago. My doctor also told me that Exercise and Diet are the key to keeping the HBP in control. I have found out through trial and error that the more, fresh plant life you can consume (fresh veggies), the better for the heart and BP. I eat a good diet for the most part and I love a good steak, just not every night...lol Also, I am on meds at the moment and have a physical coming up the last week in April, which I plan to get off all meds and be 198 lbs (currently 225 lbs.). I am 55 years old and at one time was a Football Player, Wrestler and Boxer. I have also found that one Valerian capsule a night not only helps with sleep but also has a calming effect on the entire system and helps with the HBP. Fresh fruits and veggies, lots of water, plenty of exercise and a good nights sleep...Good Luck...

Hi Clementina, I think by following your Doctor's advice you're doing exactly what is needed to help lower your BP. A healthy diet (stick with it and get the last 7lb off) and some regular exercise should suffice. Good luck. Anna
