Motivation Barriers

Hello guys,

Im sure we have all had it. That day where we feel a bit lower then normal and just feel like rteating ourselves to something we have taken out of our diet, so we buy a little bit. Some people manage to stop at that, and carry on as planned. For other people though, that one moment turns into a whole day, which turns into a whole week.

Exercise gets put on the back burner under the "i'll make up for it tomorrow" lie, Fatty food sneaks onto our plate convincing ourselves that we havent had that much really.

Before you know it you have been eating unhealthy food and not exercising for a week, and we realise how much faster our body puts on weight, then it does lose it. And we have undone two or more weeks hard work in the space of a few days.

and for some people, that is enough to stop them getting back to the healthy option. they see their hard work fall apart and lose motivation.

I am of course assuming that most people here eventually had a burst of willpower again and managed to get back on the horse and keep dieting and exercising.

For me it was chocolate, a bad day at work, a few horus lost sleep and those annoying commercials on TV that make choccy look so irresistable.

The thing that kicked me out of the vicious cycle, was seeing my weight jump up alarmingly quickly. Admittedly some of this was due to disrupted digestive function leading to imprecise readings on the scales, in fact as i speak i still dont know how much i actually weigh because my digestive cycle is still out of sync.

I would be interested to know how other peoples experiences with this. What caused you to fall off the wagon and what eventually kicked you out of it?

do you think that the occasional slip up or break from the rigid rules of healthy living can actually be a good thing in the long term?
