Bio:

Lucy taught her first classes, when she was in her late teens, for college students whilst dancing as a hobby at the Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden. However, she rejected a career in fitness, in favour of an artistic career and went on to become an animator and graphic designer for TV.  It was only later in life that she finally came back to dance and fitness, qualified as a teacher and then as a Personal Trainer. She now runs her own successful business the Body Fitness Company and has joined forces with ThinQ Fitness to become their Fitness Director and one of their fitness presenters.

Lucy is passionate about dance and fitness and believes strongly that it should be accessible to everyone.

Join Lucy in the blog to find out a bit about her eating habits as a busy working mum.

Lucy’s Tips:

  • Don’t spend hours in the gym working half-heartedly; work for shorter periods but at a higher intensity.
  • Every morning do 25 press-ups, 50 curls, 50 reverse curls and 60 oblique twists, whatever else happens that day, you will know you have done your abs!!!
  • Avoid all white flour foods.

Hi Trish, so glad you enjoyed this workout.....simple, fun is where it is at for kids and I know a lot of adults like these easier, fun things too. Thank you for your feed back and keep up the good work. Lucy

I get lost easily in some of the fast moving, aerobic dance videos so I opted for the family ones instead. They are much easier, just the right length to slot in with family life. I find that my 7 yr old son often joins in to see if he can do better than me. Thank you for a great little workout for the both of us. X

Hi Tracy, great to hear your feed back and so pleased your kids and YOU are enjoying this workout. It was fun to shoot and I think it works because Lauren really helped me to think up exercises that would appeal to other children. I remember she moaned afterwards that her "tummy hurt" ..... poor thing.....:-) Lucy

My kids love this video! We've used it a lot when it's too hot to go outside or too cold. My youngest loves the "chocolate" exercise and my oldest likes "washing the windows." Best of all, if I add some arms and modify the exercises a little, it's a good workout for me too. They are much more interested because or Lauren, so tell her thank you!

Sweet, like this sort of thing, shows you that kids enjoy regular classes just as adults do. Doesn't she work hard?

Hi Lauren and Lucy, I thought the workout was fun and easy to do and I liked the puppy bit. It was good to do this with my mum but the jumping was too hard for her - I could do it! I'd really like to do your workout again. Lauren is a lot like me. Izzy Prothero (9 years old) We loved this and had a great laugh. I like squashing the bugs best! Hi Lucy, I just wanted to write in and say how much I love the site. You dont have a testimonial section and as I have just joined wasn`t sure where to write this. The quality of the videos is incredible and who you cater for and the diversity quite breathtaking. I am 51 so had long thought my days of doing fitness videos as over, I alsways enjoyed Jane Fona and The Green Godess when I was a younger woman, but fitness nowadays has become so, well, aggressive and unlady like. It seems to be lots of celebrities in skimpy clothes or else performing tough punching and kicking routines. This is a welcome step back toward the tradition of fitness which inspired a nation and got it moving. Having people like yourself who are mothers, or slightly older instructors, makes us feel much more included again. Thank you, Z. Daly
