Bio:

Lucy taught her first classes, when she was in her late teens, for college students whilst dancing as a hobby at the Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden. However, she rejected a career in fitness, in favour of an artistic career and went on to become an animator and graphic designer for TV.  It was only later in life that she finally came back to dance and fitness, qualified as a teacher and then as a Personal Trainer. She now runs her own successful business the Body Fitness Company and has joined forces with ThinQ Fitness to become their Fitness Director and one of their fitness presenters.

Lucy is passionate about dance and fitness and believes strongly that it should be accessible to everyone.

Join Lucy in the blog to find out a bit about her eating habits as a busy working mum.

Lucy’s Tips:

  • Don’t spend hours in the gym working half-heartedly; work for shorter periods but at a higher intensity.
  • Every morning do 25 press-ups, 50 curls, 50 reverse curls and 60 oblique twists, whatever else happens that day, you will know you have done your abs!!!
  • Avoid all white flour foods.

Classes Available: West London GB
Specialist Areas: Bridal Fitness, Obesity Fitness and Reduction, Presenting, Coaching

Description

This is a free fitness video for registered users and full members.

Lucy continues with session 3 of the extremely popular Introduction to Fitness workout videos. Week 3 sees us extending the duration of exercise from 28 mins in session 2, all the way up to 38mins in session 3.

Your capacity to exercise will now be a bit stronger, and Lucy demonstrates this by taking you through to the next level of intensity suitable for this stage. Learn a double step touch, a grapevine, and even have a go at a hamstring curl. This fun session still has the recommendation of being practiced 5 times in the course of the week, but that won't be hard, as each time you do so you are understanding a little bit more.

Equipment:

Water, towel and light weights.

Take a Bow (Workout Mix) - Rihanna*

Thanks so much, Lucy, these sessions are really helping with my fitness and my perspective. Thought I might be too old to be getting back into this type of exercise, but am loving it!

Hi Caroline, glad you are enjoying Intro Fit, feeling the benifits and also getting a bit stronger. I am so pleased the breakdowns are useful and that you feel this is a useful experience for getting you ready for our other classes. Ah yes, the lovely grapevine, it is a bit of a tricky one to pick up, well done to you for getting it!!! Thanks for your comments and keep up your good work, Lucy.

Hi all,hi Lucy. This was my 3rd session of Into Fit 3 and I have noticed a difference since the 1st one in that I am finding it getting easier. Fit 3 is definately more challenging and I was feeling it and it was more of an exertion than Fit 2 but not to the point of collapse-it was good and I can definately feel myself getting fitter like when I take doggy out walking-I have more energy so I am very happy! Lucy your fab as always and Im so glad you are taking me (and many others)from being a total begginer to a level where eventually we will be able do a full on class and thank you for showing me how to do the grapevine!!-I have never ever been able to get the hang of that!! gotta laugh! but its all good. So have a great day,Caroline.
